Sample Order Terms & Conditions

These Sample Order Terms & Conditions apply to purchases of flooring samples made through the Wood & Stone Floors website.
By placing a sample order through our website, you agree to these terms.
1. About Wood & Stone Floors
Wood & Stone Floors provides premium flooring products, samples, specification services and professional flooring installation.
These terms apply only to the purchase and delivery of physical flooring samples ordered through our website.
Any subsequent flooring supply, preparation or installation project will be subject to a separate quotation and project agreement.
2. Ordering Samples
Customers can order available flooring samples through our website.
Sample availability may vary by product, finish and collection. If a selected sample becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we will contact you and, where appropriate, offer an alternative or refund.
We reserve the right to limit sample quantities where we reasonably believe an order is commercial, fraudulent or otherwise unusual.
3. Sample Pricing
Sample prices are displayed on the relevant product page at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise stated, delivery charges will be displayed during checkout before payment is completed.
All applicable prices and charges will be shown at checkout.
4. What a Sample Represents
Flooring samples are provided to help customers assess the colour, texture, finish and general appearance of a flooring product.
Natural flooring materials, particularly timber, may contain variations in:
- colour
- grain
- knots
- texture
- tone
- character
- finish
These variations are natural characteristics of the material and mean that a sample should not necessarily be expected to be an exact representation of every board that will eventually be supplied.
Lighting, surrounding colours and screen settings can also affect how flooring appears.
We therefore recommend assessing samples in the room where the flooring is intended to be installed.
5. Sample Delivery
We aim to dispatch sample orders within [X] working days.
Delivery times are estimates and may vary depending on availability and the delivery service used.
Once an order has been dispatched, customers may receive tracking information where available.
Wood & Stone Floors cannot be held responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including courier delays, adverse weather or other delivery disruptions.
6. Damaged or Incorrect Samples
Please inspect your sample when it arrives.
If a sample arrives damaged, defective or materially different from the sample ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible with details of the issue and photographs where appropriate.
We will assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or refund.
7. Cancelling a Sample Order
If you wish to cancel a sample order, please contact us as soon as possible.
Where an order has not yet been dispatched, we will make reasonable efforts to cancel it before dispatch.
Consumers may also have cancellation rights under applicable UK consumer law. Nothing in these terms is intended to remove or restrict any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Returns & Refunds
Where a customer has a legal right to cancel or return a sample order, the customer should contact us within the applicable cancellation period.
Returned samples should, where reasonably possible, be returned in their original condition and packaging.
Where a return is required because the customer has changed their mind, the customer may be responsible for reasonable return delivery costs where permitted by law.
Where a sample is faulty, damaged on arrival or incorrectly supplied, Wood & Stone Floors will provide an appropriate remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Refunds will normally be made using the original payment method.
9. Sample Orders and Future Flooring Projects
Ordering a sample does not constitute an order for flooring installation or a commitment to purchase a flooring project.
If you subsequently decide to proceed with a flooring project, Wood & Stone Floors may provide a separate quotation covering the relevant products, preparation, installation and associated services.
Any full flooring project will be subject to the terms of the quotation and/or separate project agreement provided to the customer.
10. Product Availability
Displaying a flooring product or sample on our website does not guarantee that the full quantity required for a future project will be available.
Availability, lead times and pricing for a full flooring project will be confirmed separately at quotation stage.
11. Website Information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, images and pricing on our website are accurate.
However, natural flooring products can vary in colour and appearance, and photographs may not reproduce materials exactly.
12. Limitation of Sample Purchase
The purchase of a sample does not guarantee:
- availability of the corresponding full flooring product;
- a particular batch, colour variation or natural characteristic;
- a particular installation date;
- acceptance of a future flooring quotation.
These matters will be confirmed separately if the customer proceeds with a project.
